Program Reputation
Player Issues – Staybet casino have been involved in the confiscation of a significant win from a player due to a maximum bet term violation while playing with a bonus. Ordinarily we would not view this as problematic, however in this case the single bet violation lost, causing detriment to the player, benefit to the casino and having no impact on the balance being confiscated. Where these terms are intended to prevent abusive behaviour, in this case there’s no evidence to support a claim of abuse. The single bet violation was clearly a mistake and was used in an opportunistic fashion by the operator to avoid paying. We view this to be predatory behaviour.
For references see Staybet Player Issues
Affiliate Issues – We are aware of no unresolved affiliate issues at any major affiliate portals.
Notes
Affiliates should be aware of the following term:
“8.2 The Contracting Parties hereby agree that on termination of this Agreement
a. The Affiliate must remove all references to Our Brand from the Affiliate’s websites and/or other marketing channel and communications, irrespective of whether the communications are commercial or otherwise.”
The above term forces the affiliate to remove ALL references to the Staybet Affiliate brands, regardless of their accuracy, if Staybet Affiliates terminate the affiliate contract. In other words this term is intended to prevent affiliates from criticising the Staybet Affiliate operation.
Conclusion
In the first instance Staybet’s predatory enforcement of bonus terms would have us encourage any affiliate to think twice before sending their players through to this operator, but on top of this the Staybet Partner’s revenue ladder is weak. Alongside this their term stipulating that if they choose to terminate your affiliate agreement that you have to remove all reference to their brands is extremely worrying. Most programs carry a term of a similar nature, but the inclusion of non-commercial material is clearly intended to prevent the affiliate criticising the program or properties. This is a gagging clause and we would never recommend affiliates walk into such an agreement.
