Affiliates should be aware of the following term:

“8.5 The Company or its designated appointee’s measurements and calculations in relation to the number of players that were referred through your Affiliate account and the profits from players shall not be open to review or appeal. You acknowledge and agree that: (i) discrepancies may occur with respect to the calculation of the number of players referred through mobile devices, and you waive any or all claims against The Company or its designated appointee in this regard, and (ii) you will not be paid any payments with respect to blocked players or players that were not promptly verified in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.”

Given that the market is becoming more and more dominated by mobile traffic, not being able to accurately track mobile traffic is a significant failure that will negatively impact affiliates.

Revenue Calculation Formula

Net Revenue = in respect of each period of play by each Referred Player, the value of the opening balance of that Referred Player’s account, less: any funds transferred out; the closing balance of that Referred Player’s account; free bets; bonuses; returned transactions and chargebacks; fees payable to third parties; jackpot insurance; other fair value adjustments; licence fees; payment costs; taxes; duties; bad debts; and losses due to fraud.

“8.4 Rocket Bingo operates a no negative carry-over policy, but reserves the right to revisit this with Affiliates in exceptional circumstances.”

The lack of definition of “exceptional circumstances” leaves this interpretation entirely open to the program’s opinion. As such we consider this program to have a policy of carrying negative balances over.

“9.1.1. Request for payment of a given month must be made with in 183 days (half a year) of the end of that month. Any earnings not requested within 183 days of the end of the month they accrued, then the commissions from that period will not be payable by The Company and are forfeited by The Affiliate.”

Player Issues – There are several problems with the Jumpman Gaming properties. This include a problematic dormancy term that allows the operator to seize the entire balance, rather than a reasonable fee for account administration, once an account has been deemed inactive and a maximum withdrawal term that fails to exclude progressive jackpot wins.

Affiliate Issues – It should be noted that this company, alongside owning a number of Bingo operators, also owns several online Bingo review site. As such their business is reviewing their own services and is in direct competition with any Bingo affiliate working with them.

Conclusion

The player issues with the Rocket Bingo properties are significant enough that we won’t send traffic to them but not so significant that we’d frown on other affiliates that chose to work with them.

Putting that aside and looking only at the affiliate terms and conditions offered by Rocket Bingo Affiliates unfortunately these terms provide other reasons that affiliates should think twice. A short summary follows below:

• Negative Carryover policies – Rocket Bingo Affiliates fail to define when negative carryover will be implemented. Carrying forward negative balances is a policy that makes a significant difference, especially to smaller affiliates. It’s very difficult to determine how attractive a program’s terms are without this information.
• Mobile referral data disclaimer – Mobile traffic now makes up the majority of internet usage. Not being able to track mobile referrals accurately is simply unacceptable for an affiliate.
• Invoice requirements – Unlike the majority of programs Rocket Bingo Affiliates require invoices before they’ll issue payments. They combine this with a term allowing them to seize any balances not invoiced within 6 months. You need to keep a sharp eye on your account and ensure you’re invoicing regularly or risk the program simply deciding to keep your earnings.

Even if we forget all about the player issues and look only at the affiliate terms, Rocket Bingo Affiliates aren’t attractive. This isn’t a group we’d recommend affiliates work with.
