Program Reputation

Player Issues – The group that operators the Number 1 Affiliates properties have historically non-cooperative when it has come to player complaints submitted to this service. Several of their properties also carry predatory dormancy clauses.

Affiliate Issues – We are not aware of any unresolved affiliate issues with Number 1 Affiliates.

Affiliates should be aware of the following term:

“Upon termination, all rights and licenses granted to the Affiliate in this Agreement shall immediately terminate. The Affiliate must immediately remove any reference to the company and the company’s Websites, Brands or Products from its site and disable any links from its site to same. In particular, the Affiliate shall immediately remove access to any Derivative Website established by it.”

This term effectively grants the affiliate program the right to censor anything you may publish on your site, whether factually accurate or not if they decide to terminate the affiliate agreement. This is extremely detrimental to any affiliate who engages in reviewing activity.

As far as players are concerned this group are unlicensed operators who have a history of refusing to discuss complaints. This means that if things go wrong, and they target markets that are prone to high levels of issues, there’s no-one that can help.

For affiliates they carry a gagging clause. There’s no good reason to carry this type of term. Of course commercial content has to be removed when the relationship is terminated. But factually inaccurate non-commercial content is already covered by libel laws. There’s no need to include a term like this for inaccurate material. As such the only reason to include this term is to force the removal of factually accurate content that the operator simply does not want you to share. For any affiliate that has any stake in ensuring player trust this term is extremely problematic.
