Program Reputation

Player Issues – The NetHive group of operators have been sporadic in their response to player complaints.

The casinos associated with this group have more instances of requests for Notarized ID than the standard operators groups. These may be a legitimate anti-fraud measure, but this is an invasive and costly process and should only be used on larger balances and as a last resort. The reports we’ve seen don’t suggest that these requests are being limited to these situations.

A complaint submitted to us against Winner casino appears to have shown the operator making up the rules as they went along to punish a player they were unhappy with.

The NetHive Affiliates group enforce withdrawal restrictions on Progressive Jackpot winnings. As Progressive Jackpots are paid out by the software provider jackpot pool, there’s no justification for enforcing this type of restriction other than to try and frustrate the winning player into losing back part of the win.

Winner casino have ties to NeoPlay casino via historic ownership information and website designs (NeoPlay was for a significant period a clone of the Winner site). NeoPlay share a gambling license with a number of casino properties working with Welcome Partners. Several of the casinos run by this group have been confirmed (via our conversations with Net Entertainment) to be running fake Net Entertainment games.

Affiliate Issues – In late 2014 an affiliate was found to be engaged in large scale hacking of WordPress sites. They were using security loopholes to access the sites then uploading a page of casino reviews. All affiliate programs have clear terms and conditions prohibiting this type of marketing. While some affiliate programs managed to shut this affiliate down quickly and stopped appearing on the hacked sites quickly, other programs either failed to stop the affiliate from opening new accounts or simply didn’t shut down the original accounts.

Some of the brands being operated by the extended Winner group continued to appear on these sites for many months after they were made aware of this issue.

Notes

Affiliates should be aware of the following term:

“We do not support nor give hand to any kind of content stealing or copying (site scraping), and We reserve the right to close your account with us if you will be proven to use such methods, and/or to transfer the amounts payable to you to the original content creator.”

Conclusion

From a player perspective, the extended Winner group won’t discuss complaints with 3rd party dispute resolution services, are more likely to ask players to comply with costly and invasive security measures and appear to have made rules up as they went when a situation didn’t suit them. That’s an impressive list of good reasons for players not to engage with this operator.

From an affiliate perspective NetHive Affiliates has a list of pretty negative terms which we summarise below:

• Negative Carryover policies – if your players have a win large enough to create a significant negative balance for you, this creates a situation where you no longer have any incentive to carry on marketing the program’s brands. This leads to a short-term mind set to working relationship between the affiliate and the program.
• Right to reduce your commission levels to 12.5% or an undefined level based on vague criteria. We consider this to be a minimum activity quota as we feel that level of revenue share is unsustainable on a business level.

What is also of a concern is that properties within the extended Winner group have been ineffective in preventing their brands appearing on hacked affiliate sites when other reputable operators have coped. This suggests that this group have either chosen to work with groups engaged in illegal activity or have ineffective preventative security procedures. This has angered many in the affiliate community and as such all Winner related programs hold Not Recommended status.
