Notes
Affiliates should be aware of the following term:
“6.2 You will not promote Our Website in any of the Restricted Territories and you will block access to Your Website from any IP addresses in any Restricted Territories.”
While we don’t believe that it is the intended purpose of the term, the above could be enforced in a manner that requires the affiliate to geo-restrict all restricted territories across their entire site even if they work with other partners that do accept players from the MadAbout Affiliate’s restricted list.
It should also be noted that the restricted countries lists differ between the affiliate program and the operators.
Program Reputation
Player Issues – The MadAbout Affiliate properties run on the Nektan and ProgressPlay casino platforms. Nektan has been found routinely issuing bonuses to players that are actively detrimental to the player regardless of how they are used (cost the player more than playing without a bonus due to aggressively prohibitive terms and conditions). We view this practice to be deceptive and dishonest in marketing terms as the term “bonus” suggests a positive while these marketing activities serve as a tax to players.
ProgressPlay carry a dormancy clause that we view to be predatory, though only for UK players and only in a mild sense.
For references see – Nektan Player Issues.
Affiliate Issues – We are aware of no unresolved affiliate issues at any major affiliate portals.
Conclusion
Other than a player dormancy clause that is slightly more aggressive than we’re comfortable with and a term allowing for the detagging of dormant players, overall MadAbout Affiliates are a fair choice for affiliates. We would require the removal of the detagging term before we’d recommend them to affiliates however.
