Terms and Conditions

Minimum Activity Quota – Yes, see below;

“ 5.3.6 Hippodrome Affiliates will only make payments to active affiliates; an active affiliate account is defined as an account which has generated a minimum of 1 new paying customer for the casino clients of Hippodrome Affiliates within a 3 month period. If an account does not meet these requirements, at the sole discretion of Hippodrome Affiliates management, future commission payments may be withheld.”

and

“5.3.7 In the event that any Affiliate fails to send, or otherwise refer, a new active depositing player within any consecutive 3 month period, then any Commission which would otherwise be due to that Affiliate in terms of these Terms and Conditions may, at the sole discretion of Hippodrome Affiliates management, be blocked, immediately following the aforesaid 3 month period of inactivity, until Hippodrome Affiliates management, at its sole discretion, considers the account active. Save that Hippodrome Affiliates management will, in the exercise of its discretion, unblock the said account as soon as a player, or players, are again referred by the Affiliate, in which case the Commission payable will revert to the standard sliding revenue share model and not the level of Commission applicable on or immediately before the date of the applicable 3 months of inactivity.”

High Roller Policy – Yes, see below:

“5.4 High-Roller Policy

5.4.1 In any given month, if an individual player generates a negative net win of at least $10,000 (‘high-roller’), and the aggregate net win in that month (for the casino) for that affiliate is negative $2,000 or greater, then the high-roller policy will apply.

5.4.2 If both of the above criteria are met (see clause 5.4.1) then the negative net win generated by the high-roller will be carried forward and offset against future net win generated by that high-roller.

5.4.3 The negative balance carried forward cannot be set-off against other players net win.>

5.4.4 The negative balance carried forward cannot be greater than the total aggregate negative net win for the affiliate, for that month.

5.4.5 If there is more than one high-roller, the negative balance carried forward will be split proportionally between them.

5.4.6 The negative balance of a high-roller will be reduced by future positive net win that they generate in subsequent months. A negative balance will not be increased by future negative net win unless the high-roller meets the qualifying criteria in subsequent months (see clause 5.4.1).

5.4.7 Affiliates who have qualifying high-rollers on their account will be notified at the beginning of the following month.

We reserve the right to change the Commission schedule and method of calculation of Commission.

5.5 Ring Fencing of Affiliate Funds (This applies ONLY to affiliates registering from 7th of January 2013)

If, in any given month, Your Account reflects a negative net win balance for one brand and a positive net Win balance for another brand, then the positive Net Win balance will be off-set against the negative balance for that given month. For example, if brand A has a negative Net Win of (-) $5, and brand B has a positive Net Win balance of (+) $6, Your Account will reflect a total of (+) $1.”

Program Reputation

Player Issues – Hippodrome casino have been non-responsive to player complaints at AskGamblers but have given assurances that they will cooperate in the management of player issues at ThePOGG and CasinoMeister.

Hippodrome casino is operated by the same group that run Betway (the Fortune Lounge group). This group have had a large volume of player issues that have not been responded to.

For references see – http://thepogg.com/appendix-casino-reviews/#Fortune_Lounge_Group.

Affiliate Issues – In late 2014 an affiliate was found to be engaged in large scale hacking of WordPress sites. They were using security loopholes to access the sites then uploading a page of casino reviews.

All affiliate programs have clear terms and conditions prohibiting this type of marketing. While some affiliate programs managed to shut this affiliate down quickly and stopped appearing on the hacked sites quickly, other programs either failed to stop the affiliate from opening new accounts or simply didn’t shut down the original accounts.

Some of the brands being operated by the extended Fortune Lounge group continued to appear on these sites for many months after they were made aware of this issue.

Conclusion

From a player perspective Hippodrome casino are a mixed bag. They have stated that they’re willing to discuss complaints, but they’re also run by a group that regularly doesn’t discuss complaints.

Then there’s the issue with one of the biggest casino affiliates in operation today, AskGambler, and the other affiliate issues that the Fortune Lounge group have.

If we just look at the affiliate terms and conditions things get a little clearer. There are some significantly negative terms for affiliates that we’ll summarise below:

• Detagging of players already registered with the Betway network – this means that even if the player you sent through has never heard of Hippodrome casino before and has no idea that they are associated with any other casino (in other words a genuine new player), but plays with one of the Betway brands you won’t get paid for this player.

• Minimum activity quota – this term allows the program to simply not pay you if you haven’t sent a player in the last three months. For any small affiliate or affiliate that doesn’t intend to give Hippodrome premium exposure this term represents a significant threat to your ability to make money. Even for a larger affiliate this term traps you into a relationship where you’ll lose the revenue from your previously referred players if you choose to stop promoting this brand.

The above terms are very detrimental to affiliates and combined with the various other issues that surround this program this leads us to say that affiliates should not work with Hippodrome affiliates.
