Program Reputation
Player Issues – Carat themselves do not have any notable player issues that we’re aware of. However they do run on WL Services, a white label provider. This provider has previously allowed their licensees to close without paying players. As such we view any operator running on their platform to be high risk to player funds.
For references see – http://thepogg.com/appendix-casino-reviews/#WL_Services_NV_Group.
Affiliate Issues – We are aware of no unresolved affiliate issues at any major affiliate portals.
Conclusion
If running on a white label provider that had let players bear the brunt for its operators failure wasn’t enough to give us second thoughts about promoting the Carat Partners brands, there are certainly a few terms in their affiliate contract that would put us off:
• Negative Carryover policies – if your players have a win large enough to create a significant negative balance for you, this creates a situation where you no longer have any incentive to carry on marketing the program’s brands. This leads to a short-term mind set to working relationship between the affiliate and the program.
• A commission ladder that starts lower and ends lower than other brands on the market.
• A term allowing the operator to cancel their responsibilities to their affiliates if they have to “re-enter” a market.
None of the above is so serious that we would go as far as actively discouraging affiliates from working with Carat Partners, but we wouldn’t recommend working with them either.
This program is not recommended but listed in our needs work category
