Terms and Conditions

Minimum Activity Quota – Yes, see below;

“7.16.2.3 If after a 12 month inclusive period no new active Customers are referred, then Revenue Share will be reduced to 10%. Once a new active Customer has been referred, the following month the revenue share will be increased to 25% revenue share, and then such revenue share will increase in line with the number of referrals set out in 7.16.2 above”

High Roller Policy – Yes, see below:

“In any given month, if a Customer generates a negative Net Revenue of at least $10,000 he/she is deemed to be a ‘High-Roller’ and Your aggregate Net Revenue in that month (for the casino, Bingo and sports betting) is negative $2,000 or greater, then the high-roller policy, as set out hereunder, will apply.

If both of the above criteria (set out in 18.1) are met, then the negative Net Revenue generated by the high-roller will be carried forward and offset against future Net Revenue generated by that high-roller.

Example:

Month January – Player wins $15000 during that month and when the month closes the High Roller player and the other players in Your account have lost -$5000 then closing balance for this affiliate is -$10000. This is the highrolled balance that is carried across the next months.

Month February: The highroller lost -$2000 then outstanding balance for this player would be -$8000. The amount is only deducted from this individual player loses and not towards to any other players.

The negative balance carried forward cannot be set-off against other players Net Revenue.

The negative balance carried forward cannot be greater than the total aggregate negative Net Revenue for the affiliate, for that month.

If there is more than one high-roller, the negative balance carried forward will be split proportionally between them.

The negative balance of a high-roller will be reduced by future positive Net Revenue that they generate in subsequent months. A negative balance will not be increased by future negative Net Revenue unless the high-roller meets the qualifying criteria in subsequent months (see clause 18.1).

Affiliates who have qualifying high-rollers on their account will be notified at the beginning of the following month.”

How long does player revenue last? – Revenue for referred players is paid for the lifetime of the player’s activity.

Program Reputation

Player Issues – The Betway Partner Affiliates properties have been inconsistent in their response to player complaints across a variety of 3rd party dispute mediation portals. This is a large group with a large player base, the proportion of complaints is small and generally appear to be related to potential multi-accounting issues.

This lack of transparency when it comes to complaints is still concerning.

For references see – http://thepogg.com/appendix-casino-reviews/#Fortune_Lounge_Group.

Affiliate Issues – In late 2014 an affiliate was found to be engaged in large scale hacking of WordPress sites. They were using security loopholes to access the sites then uploading a page of casino reviews. All affiliate programs have clear terms and conditions prohibiting this type of marketing. While some affiliate programs managed to shut this affiliate down quickly and stopped appearing on the hacked sites quickly, other programs either failed to stop the affiliate from opening new accounts or simply didn’t shut down the original accounts.

Some of the brands being operated by the extended Fortune Lounge group continued to appear on these sites for many months after they were made aware of this issue.

Notes

Affiliates should be aware of the following term:

“During your participation in the Programme, and for a period of 6 months after any termination of such participation, you undertake not, either directly or indirectly, to solicit, or attempt to solicit, divert or hire away any person engaged by Betway as an employee, contractor or consultant at the time of solicitation or during the 12 month period preceding the solicitation.

Should you have any doubt as to whether an individual is engaged by Betway, then you must, prior to attempting any solicitation of such individual, to make a written inquiry of Betway in this regard. Your failure to confirm the status of any individual prior to a solicitation shall not relieve you from your duties and obligations under this non-solicitation clause.

You agree that in the event of a breach of this non-solicitation clause, Betway shall suffer substantial and irreparable harm which may not be adequately compensated for by the payment of damages. As a result, Betway shall be entitled to seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to enjoin or prevent such solicitation, and that this will not limit any other causes of action or legal redress that may be available to Betway.”

also

You shall not: (a) undertake any action which may have a detrimental impact on the ability of Betway to be qualified for or to hold or maintain any licence, permit or approval granted, or to be granted, by any competent authority, or (b) undertake any action which could reasonably be construed as bringing Betway into Material Disrepute, where “Material Disrepute” means any condition which could reasonably and objectively be seen to create a material negative perception of the integrity of Betway or the Programme.

Conclusion

While the properties represented by Betway Partners Affiliates have notable enough player issues that ThePOGG.com is not prepared to recommend them to players, we would not overtly criticise other affiliates for doing so based on player issues.

A review of the terms and conditions at Betway Partners has lead us to the conclusion that this program offers terms that are amongst the worst we’ve seen for affiliates. An aggressive minimum activity clause, negative carry over, branding fees (on top of the tax that would be taken anyway) and non-payment for any player they already have in their database for any brand – these terms really stifle the affiliate’s ability to earn.

What is more of a concern is that properties within the extended FortuneLounge group have been ineffective in preventing their brands appearing on hacked affiliate sites when other reputable operators have coped. This suggests that this group have either chosen to work with groups engaged in illegal activity or have ineffective preventative security procedures. This has angered many in the affiliate community and as such all FortuneLounge related programs hold Not Recommended status.
