Program Reputation

Player Issues – Rival software as a whole has developed a significantly negative reputation with both players and affiliates. Many Rival powered casino appear to be owned by the software provider but this group have always been secretive regarding the ownership of their various clients. This has created a situation where it’s very difficult to separate the behaviour of the various properties.

Rival software has failed to explain connections (shared Google Analytics accounts) to a testing company, CertainKey, that did work on the development and testing of their RNG.

Some of the BestPay Partners properties carry the following term:

“The casino reserves the right to void any winnings if player is suspected of fraud or fraudulent activity or if it is determined by the casino management that the player made use of computer systems, system play/wagering such as card counting e.g., including machine, computers and fraudulent software.”

As Card Counting is not possible when playing RNG games, assuming the games have been programed correctly, the inclusion of this restriction is nonsensical.

Several of the casinos represented by BestPay Partners carry the following term:

“5.1. All Deposits of 249 USD/EURO/GBP/AUS or less have a max withdrawal of 10X the deposit for that specific play session (all other currencies pegged to USD). Once a withdrawal is approved, the casino applies the 10X rule and corrects the withdrawal to accurately reflect the 10X rule. The remaining funds are deemed ‘Non-Withdrawable’ and are cleared from the player’s balance. Deposit bonuses used during a play session that results in a pending withdrawal request, are also ‘Non-Withdrawable’ and can be deducted from that particular pending withdrawal.”

There’s no sound mathematical bases for a casino needing this restriction to protect itself and given that players who decline bonuses naturally expect to play without restriction and would not anticipate winning restrictions like this we consider the above term to be at the very least Predatory, if not completely unethical.

This group appears to have some association with the now defunct ‘Rome’ group of casinos, a group with a particularly poor reputation with players.

A complaint posted on AskGamblers appears to demonstrate that this group has engaged in retroactively changing bonus terms to justify non-payment of the player. We reviewed the player’s posted information and if the dates of play were accurate we can confirm via our own terms and conditions monitoring service that the term in question was not in place at the time of play.

The BestPay Partners operators have also been repeatedly unresponsive to various player complaints.

Affiliate Issues – In late 2014 an affiliate was found to be engaged in large scale hacking of WordPress sites. They were using security loopholes to access the sites then uploading a page of casino reviews. All affiliate programs have clear terms and conditions prohibiting this type of marketing. While some affiliate programs managed to shut this affiliate down quickly and stopped appearing on the hacked sites quickly, other programs either failed to stop the affiliate from opening new accounts or simply didn’t shut down the original accounts.

Many of the brands being operated by the extended BestPay Partners group continued to appear on these sites for many months after they were made aware of this issue.

BestPay Partners appear to have engaged in detagging of referrals form an affiliate account and when confronted refused to reapply the detagged affiliates.

Conclusion

Between predatory and nonsense terms, non-responsiveness to player complaints and retroactive changing of terms and conditions the BestPay Partners are one of the worst choices players could make today. Even for affiliates, any program that’s willing to go outside their contract and detag referrals is not to be trusted. Any affiliate promoting this group is, in our opinion, making a clear statement that they aren’t concerned about the treatment players will receive when sent through to this operator.
