Program Reputation
Player Issues – We are not aware of any unresolved player issues with the Alea Affiliates properties.
Affiliate Issues – The group running Alea Affiliates previously ran Affiliate Republik which represented both Slots Million and Tropezia Palace. Tropezia Palace was broken away from Affiliate Republik to run on its own program. At this point this group retroactively introduced Negative Carry Over reducing the agreed amount they paid their affiliate for traffic that they had already received.
Notes
The Affiliate hereby agrees that on termination of this Agreement, the Affiliate must remove all references to the company websites from the Affiliate sites and any communications, irrespective of whether the communications are commercial or otherwise.”
This term effectively grants the affiliate program the right to censor anything you may publish on your site, whether factually accurate or not if they decide to terminate the affiliate agreement. This is extremely detrimental to any affiliate who engages in reviewing activity.
Conclusion
From a player perspective we see few issues with the Alea Affiliates properties.
From an affiliate perspective the situation is very different. A short summary is included below:
– Their gagging clause. There’s no good reason to carry this type of term. Of course commercial content has to be removed when the relationship is terminated. But factually inaccurate non-commercial content is already covered by libel laws. There’s no need to include a term like this for inaccurate material. As such the only reason to include this term is to force the remove of factually accurate content that the operator simply does not want you to share. For any affiliate that has any stake in ensuring player trust this term is extremely problematic.
– A failure to define what their revenue ladder is.
– A failure to define how revenue is calculated.
– A failure to define what happens to negative balances at the end of the month.
– A history that includes changing terms to reduce payments to affiliates after traffic has already been received.
So a large amount of important information that’s missing from the terms, a gagging clause and a history of retroactively changing terms. Far from what we’d consider a quality operation.
