Program Reputation
Player Issues – The 888 Affiliate properties are part of the 888.com group. This group have an extensive list of player issues:
• Multiple failures to engage with 3rd party dispute mediation.
• Confiscation of winnings based on vague terms and conditions.
• Confiscation of winnings due to playing at multiple properties within the extended 888 white label network, without giving the player clear guidance regarding which properties they operate. This extends to both bonus play and self-exclusions.
• A Baccarat game that’s mis-paying on multiple bets.

Affiliate Issues – The 888 group has been documented enforcing the general account closure term seemingly because an affiliate was earning significant revenue but was not generating enough new leads. It should be noted that it’s likely the affiliate was generating enough leads that the operator could not enforce the more specific Minimum Activity Quota detailed below otherwise that term would appear to be more relevant.
In late 2014 an affiliate was found to be engaged in large scale hacking of WordPress sites. They were using security loopholes to access the sites then uploading a page of casino reviews. All affiliate programs have clear terms and conditions prohibiting this type of marketing. While some affiliate programs managed to shut this affiliate down quickly and stopped appearing on the hacked sites quickly, other programs either failed to stop the affiliate from opening new accounts or simply didn’t shut down the original accounts.
The 888 group of casinos turned up regularly on these sites long after other operators had managed to stop appearing.

Conclusion
The player issue with 888 and their white label partners make us very uncomfortable.
Putting that aside and looking only at the affiliate terms and conditions offered by 888 Affiliates there’s a host of reasons not to work with this program. A short summary follows below:
• Negative Carryover policies – if your players have a win large enough to create a significant negative balance for you, this creates a situation where you no longer have any incentive to carry on marketing the program’s brands. This leads to a short-term mind set to working relationship between the affiliate and the program.
• Maximum of 24 months revenue on poker players – compared to the majority of the rest of the market, who pay revenue on the LIFETIME of the player, this is a hugely uncompetitive term.
• The right to reduce commission to unspecified levels if you fail to meet minimum activity requirements.
• Enforcement of general closure terms because an account has been underperforming without specifying required performance requirements or providing any advanced notice.
Even if we forget all about the player issues and look only at the affiliate terms, 888 Affiliates simply offer horrible terms. We won’t recommend any program that enforces minimum activity quotas, but 888 appear to have gone further than a minimum activity quota, enforcing a general account closure because the affiliate wasn’t performing to unspecified standards. This sort of practice gives affiliates no security what-so-ever and we would advise against working with this program.
